Kenneth Myron Nelson

Kenneth M. Nelson, age 74, of Spicer, passed away Wednesday morning, February 12, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Kenneth "Ken" Myron Nelson was born on February 13, 1950, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Luther and Lillian (Wig) Nelson.  He grew up and received his education in the Spicer community.  Ken married Nancy Jorgenson and they were blessed with two sons, Shawn and Jeremy.  Ken worked in the construction industry for many years, first at New London Concrete then at McBroom Construction.  He enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, hunting, fishing, riding his bike around town and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his two sons, Shawn Nelson of Spicer and Jeremy (and Lori) Nelson of New London; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Also surviving are three brothers, Leo Nelson and Keith Nelson, both of Spicer and Lyle (and Deb) Nelson of Sunburg; besides other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sharon; and a sister-in-law, Lynette.
