LaDonna E. Adkins, age 92, of Willmar, MN died peacefully Thursday morning, January 24, at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar, Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home, Willmar and at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials preferred to Bethesda Foundation, Rice Hospice care and St. Mary's Church of Willmar. (www.petersonbrothers.com)

LaDonna Elizabeth Adkins, 92, was born May 31, 1920 in Selz, North Dakota to Raymond and Maybelle (Kaufman) Bollum and was baptized Jan. 7, 1921 at Church of The Ascension in Minneapolis. She spent much of her childhood on her grandparents' farm near Guthrie, ND. In 1938 she graduated from Minot High School and in 1939 began working as a hairstylist with her sister Dorothy.
On May 30, 1941, she married John M. Adkins at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. They lived in Minot until moving to Breckenridge, MN in 1950. After moving to Ottertail Lake in 1966, they enjoyed lake living for the next 35 years. Throughout her life, LaDonna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
LaDonna's passion was playing bridge and she attained the rank of National Master with the American Contract Bridge League. Other interests included dancing, playing the piano, and traveling. Beginning in 1979, she and John wintered in Arizona for the next 17 years, where they enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In 2008, LaDonna moved to Sunrise Village in Willmar, and later to Bethesda Pleasant View; she continued to enjoy cards, music and family, especially visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by her daughters Joan Quinn and husband Kevin, Spicer, and Marsha Adkins, Willmar; her son David Adkins and wife Kathy, Sioux Falls, SD; 9 grandchildren Rick Fletcher and wife Julie, Barry Adkins, Cara Quinn and husband Stefano Follega, Mick Quinn and wife Chloe, Ryan Quinn, Joshua, Jennica and Tessa Adkins, Tanasha Deacon; two step-grandchildren Elizabeth Hill and husband Jeremy, and Andrew Davidson; her great-grandchildren Sean and Luca Follega, Avery, Hannah, Sophia, and Tommy Quinn, and Evoliano Deacon, and her half-sister Suzanne Logeman and husband Richard of Stockton, CA, as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her sons Dennis and Richard, her sisters Ramona and Dorothy as well as her sisters- and brothers-in-law.
