Laura Buckley-Commerford

Laura Buckley-Commerford, age 64, of Spicer, passed away at her home on January 29, 2021. Due to COVID restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Laura was born in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, on June 6, 1956, the daughter of Bob and Shirley (Hanley) Buckley.  Upon graduating from high school in Colorado, Laura returned to the Spicer area where her father just opened the Green Lake Nursery in 1976.  There she met her husband, Danny Commerford, and they were married in 1982.

After returning to college, Laura graduated Summa cum laude, from St. Cloud State University in 1990 with a degree in accounting.  With more than 20 years of employment as a CPA with Westberg/Eischens in Willmar, Laura retired early due to health concerns this past fall.

Laura had many interests but cooking and visiting her family in Hawaii were her highlights.  A beautiful day for Laura would be a great cup of coffee, ½ day of work, walking the dogs at Sibley Park and enjoying the sunset with Danny at the cabin.

Laura is survived by her husband Danny of Spicer; sister Julie (and Gerry) Mansell of Kailua, Hawaii; brothers: Tom (and Laurie) Buckley of the Twins Cities, David (and Barb) Buckley of Centuria, WI, nieces and nephews, along with many great friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pam.
