Lawrence "Larry" H. Ostasiewicz, age 68, of St. Cloud and formerly of Willmar, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 23, at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis.
Friends may celebrate Larry's life from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorials to the V.A. Medical Center are preferred. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Larry was born on April 6, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Henry and Helen (Koski) Ostasiewicz. He grew up and received his education in Detroit and served in the U.S. Air Force. On April 24, 1965, Larry was married to Patricia White and they made their home in the Willmar community. Larry worked at Chappell Central and Leaders Manufacturing. Patricia died in 2000. On December 3, 2005, Larry married Beverly Niles and they made their home in Willmar and St. Cloud. He enjoyed fishing, camping, target shooting, playing card games, surfing the internet and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of St. Cloud; his four children, Paul Ostasiewicz of St. Paul, Robin (and Michael) Kaehler of Brooklyn Park, Mark Ostasiewicz of Texas and Becky (and Andrew) Peterson of Lake Lillian; two step-sons, Charles (and Tammy) Niles of Marshfield, WI., and William (and Shari) Niles of Auburndale, WI.; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel (and Tracy) Ostasiewicz of Westland, MI., and one sister, Toni (and Stan) Gabridge of Richmond, MI., besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Patricia.
