Lawrence Wepplo

Lawrence "Larry" Robert Wepplo, age 42, of Willmar, died April 2, at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom.



A Celebration of Life service for Larry will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 6, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. He will be laid to eternal rest at the Finnish Cemetery near Franklin. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM with a Knights of Columbus Rosary service at 8 PM on Tuesday, April 5, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Rochester Mayo Clinic - Liver Research or the Willmar Community Foundation are preferred. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.



Larry was born on June 24, 1968, at Andrew's Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland, the son of Raymond and Jeanne (Vance) Wepplo. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin, Minnesota. Larry graduated from Cedar Mountain High School of Morgan/Franklin in 1986 and from Ridgewater College in 1988. Following his graduation, Larry began his employment at Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing, PLLP. He received his CPA certification from the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy in 1991 and became Partner in 2001. On October 25, 2003, Larry was united in marriage to Beth Klinkner at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. They lived in Willmar where Larry was very active in community service, his church and many local organizations. Larry was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Larry served as chair of the City Audit Review Task Force for the Minnesota Society of Certified Accountants. He also served as Treasurer for Mainstreet Willmar, the Willmar Community Foundation, E-quip Africa, Long Lake Access Association and various other local organizations. He was a member of the Willmar Kiwanis and served on the Sacramental Life and Worship Committee at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar.



Larry enjoyed classic cars, racing, attending car shows, reading, history, traveling and being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting deer and pheasants. Larry was an avid Gopher Football and Husky Hockey fan.



Honesty, integrity, trust, reputable and professionalism were all traits of Larry's personality.



He is survived by his loving wife of almost 8 years, Beth; his parents, Raymond and Jeanne Wepplo; one sister, Nancy Wepplo of Windom; his mother-in-law, Shirley Klinkner of Andover; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Tim (and Bobbie) Klinkner of Winona, Laurie (and Jim) Trombley of New Brighton, Deb (and Don) Lorsung of Isanti, Bonnie (and Dean) Johnson of Springfield, MO, Dan Klinkner of Delavan, Julie (and Doug) Haecherl of Becker, Brad (and Michelle) Klinkner of Garfield and Chris (and Michelle) Klinkner of Blue Earth; 27 nieces and nephews; one great niece; many additional family members; wonderful co-workers, friends, clients and colleagues; as well as his beloved dog, Emma.



He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his uncle and godfather, Ronald Wepplo; his aunt and godmother, Sharon Wepplo and his father-in-law, Arnold Klinkner.
