Lay Shwe

Lay Shwe, age 60, of Willmar, passed away Sunday evening, December 29, at her residence, surrounded by her family and under hospice care.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3, at Grace Baptist Church in Willmar.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Lay Shwe was born on January 1, 1964, in Lerdo, Burma, the daughter of Lu Baw and Lah Htoo.  In 1978, she was married to Ko Der.  In 2013, they immigrated to America, settled in Willmar, Minnesota and became U.S. citizens.  She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  Lay worked hard as a homemaker, raising her eight children.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, entertaining family and reading the Bible.

She is survived by her eight children, Ka Htoo, Paw Tamla Htoo, Paw Ta Hgay, Ko Wah, Lay Der, Sell Paw, Ko Lay and Pa Doh; ten grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ko Der.
