Lee A. Wallace, age 59, of Spicer, died Tuesday afternoon, July 31, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood from injuries received in a semi-train accident near Brooten.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, August 4, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Atwater with Rev. Grant Fischer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Atwater Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Lee Allen Wallace was born May 14, 1948, in Montevideo, the son of Ethan and Shirley (Haug) Wallace. His family later moved to Atwater, where Lee grew up and received his education, graduating from Atwater High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Navy at sea during the Vietnam Era. In 1972, he married Geraldine Pelkey in Spicer. He worked as a truck driver and for the last 16 years worked as an independent driver for Henry Trucking of Murdock.
Lee loved to visit with others and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was always cheerful and enjoyed helping others. He also enjoyed working on cars and trucks and watching television. He will be remembered for his forgiving soul.
He is survived by his children, Christopher (and Paula) Wallace of Willmar, Jennifer Hernandez of Montevideo and Jeremy Wallace of Duluth; his ex-wife, Geraldine Wallace of Willmar; and four grandchildren, Zeppelin Peterson, David Hernandez, Zoey Wallace and Addison Wallace. Also surviving are his twin sister, Linda (and Roy) Campbell of Willmar; three brothers, David (and Susan) Wallace of Atwater, Dean (and Connie) Wallace of Willmar and Tim (and Kathy) Wallace of Atwater and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Wallace.
