Lenore Clarice Magnuson, age 83, of Willmar and formerly of the Lake Lillian area, died Sunday evening, Feb. 4, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the United Methodist Church in Willmar. Interment will later this spring at the Lake Lillian Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Friday, Feb. 9, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Lenore was born on October 10, 1923, on the family farm in Lake Lillian Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of Mamie (Hanson) and George Vick, Sr. She grew up and attended school in the rural Lake Lillian community and was baptized and confirmed at the Lake Lillian United Methodist Church. Lenore received her teachers training at taught for 5 years in the rural Lake Lillian schools. On July 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Magnuson. They lived and farmed in the Lake Lillian community and she worked as a homemaker, raising their four children. Lenore was a current member of the Willmar United Methodist Church and was active in various women's church groups. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, flowers and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Magnuson of Willmar; four children, Bruce (and Barbara) Magnuson of Glencoe, Lorene Magnuson (and Dick DeTingo) of Forrest Lake, Marie Magnuson of Roseville and Mark (and Deborah) Magnuson of Cold Spring; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also surviving is one sister, Muriel (and Elder) Madsen of Lake Lillian, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Vick Jr.
