Leona M. Frank, age 83, of Willmar, died Thursday, May 7, at Bethesda PleasantView Nursing Home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials are preferred to Rice Hospice or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Leona Mae Frank was born March 15, 1926, in Montevideo, Minnesota to Edward S. and Agnes (Angrimson) Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watson. She grew up in the rural Milan community and graduated from Milan High School. In 1944, she married Harlan Golden and they lived and farmed in rural Milan. In 1965, Leona moved to Willmar. She worked at Wonderalls in Willmar for a short time and later attended Willmar Vo-Tech for the clerical/business program. Leona then worked as a secretary at Rice Hospital and for an insurance agency, as a baker for the Lakeland Hotel Cafe and at Willmar Poultry. In 1974, Leona was married to Larry Frank. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, baking, cooking, crocheting and attending garage sales.
She is survived by two sons: Craig (and Claudia) Golden of Morgan and Douglas (and Shellie) Golden of Hermantown; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Ruth Torgerson of Big Stone, SD, Arlene Poppe of Montevideo and Loretta (and Arnold) Lange of Montevideo; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Harlan Golden and Larry Frank; a brother: Albert "Billy" Erickson and a sister: Verna Norby.
