Lila Warwick, 79, of Willmar, died Monday, July 29, at her home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 3, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Village Cemetery in Welcome at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar,
Lila Mae Warwick was born May 26, 1934, in Jackson, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Ella (Ullrich) Werner. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Jackson, attended Petersburg Consolidated School and graduated from Jackson High School in 1952. Upon graduating, she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.
On September 22, 1956, she was united in marriage to Robert Warwick. Their marriage was blessed with two children: Kent and Cheri. They lived in Welcome, Minnesota and later moved to Paullina, Iowa, where Lila continued to work for the telephone company. In 1963, they moved to LaCrosse, Wisconsin, where Lila worked for the LaCrosse Rubber Mills. They moved to Willmar in 1969 and Lila began a 29 year career with Willmar Manufacturing, retiring in 1998.
Lila was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, financial secretary, preschool volunteer and on the board of evangelism. Lila enjoyed her time with family and grandchildren and her church family as well.
She is survived her children, Kent Warwick of North Dakota and Cheri Ekbom of Brooklyn Park; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Warwick of Willmar; eight grandchildren, Michael (and Nikki) Wieberdink, Robbie Warwick, Ryan Warwick, Reanne Warwick, Nathan Ekbom, Emily Ekbom, Katie Ekbom and Molly Ekbom; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Wieberdink and Paxton Layon; two brothers, Orrie (and Lois) Werner and Leland (and Mazie) Werner, both of Jackson; a sister, LaVerne Beseke of Sherburn; a sister-in-law, MaryAnn Werner of Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1976; a brother, Ronald Werner; and a sister, Marcella Libra.
