Linda Hemze, 61, of Willmar, died Saturday, march 5, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 11, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Spring interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Linda Marie Ann Hemze was born September 1, 1949 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Rita (Kamphake) Merhar. The family later moved to the Iron Range, where Linda was raised until moving to the Willmar area in the early 1960s. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1967. On February 21, 1978, she married Gordon Hemze. Linda worked at Jennie-O Foods, before staying home to raise her children. Once her children were grown, she worked with her husband as an OTR truck driver.
She was a member of the Church of St. Mary. Linda enjoyed arts and crafts, the outdoors and was an avid reader. She also loved her pets and traveling in the truck.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon; two sons, Joseph Whitaker of Willmar and Raymond (and Tammy) Whitaker of Canby; her stepchildren, Barry, Brad and Stephanie; her step-grandchildren; a brother, David (and Cindy) Merhar of Forest Lake; a sister, Louise (and John) Ashley of New London; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Robin Haskins.
