Lisa Lynn Carlson

Lisa Lynn Carlson, age 36, of New London and formerly of Atwater, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 18, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Lisa Lynn Carlson was born on March 16, 1986, in Princeton, Minnesota.  At 5 1/2 months old, she was adopted by Gary and Chris Carlson.  She grew up in Atwater and graduated from Atwater High School in 2004.  Lisa was a homemaker and worked as a caretaker at area apartments.  She was most recently employed at Madden’s Upholstery in Spicer.  Lisa will be remembered for her kind heartedness and love of animals.

She is survived by her two children, ShaeLynn Shonerd of Spillville, Iowa and Kevin Martineau of New London; her parents, Gary and Chris Carlson of Atwater; one brother, Jamie (and Kristen) Carlson of San Jose, California; and two nephews, Asher and Leo.  Also surviving are her grandparents, Gladys Carlson of Willmar and Sybil (and David) Mead of Westbury, Wilts, England, besides other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Lester Carlson and Alloys “Pete” Petersen.
