Lois M. Andreen, age 86, of Willmar, died Sunday evening, March 3, at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
Following Lois' wishes, a graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 9, at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Willmar. There will be a time of fellowship and a light lunch served at the Fellowship Hall downstairs at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar following the graveside service. Lois Mae Andreen was born on February 26, 1927 in Lake Lillian, Minnesota, the daughter of Mary (Heckman) and John Lang. She grew up in the Lake Lillian and Kandiyohi areas and received her education at the Whittier School in Kandiyohi. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Lake Lillian. On September 8, 1945, she was married to Clifford A. Andreen at the parsonage in Willmar and they made their home here until 1954. They moved to North Park, Illinois in that year and lived there until 1962, when they moved back to the Willmar area. They lived at the Centennial Square Apts. until they moved to Rice Care Center in 2008, where they have resided since. Over the years, Lois had worked several jobs including cook at a lunch counter, nurses aid, line work at Jennie-O Foods, and the candy company. She loved being with family and friends and enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, playing bingo and doing circle word books.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford of Willmar, 1 son; Richard (and Mary) Andreen of Madelia and 1 daughter; Bonnie (and Alan) Fritze of Willmar. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; Heather (and Tim) Gross, Heidi (and Brian) Wikstrom, Hope (and Andy) Wallin, Jason (and Angela) Andreen, Brett (and Angel) Naber, and Robin (and Eric) Raasch, 20 great grandchildren, 1 brother; Orvis (and Rhoda) Lang of Willmar, 1 sister; Marion (and Sydney) Rhoda of Willmar and 2 sisters-in-law; Mary Lang of Kandiyohi and Audrey Lang of Baxter, besides other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, son (Robert in 1990), 2 brothers (Roger and Bernard Lang) and 3 sisters (Phyllis Christiansen, Margaret Renstrom and Lona Dallman).
