Lois Bartel, age 77, of Willmar, died Tuesday morning, March 13, at her home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Lois Eulalia Bartel was born May 13, 1940, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of Christian and Margaret (Adrian) Sannerud. She grew up and received her education in Clarkfield, graduating from Clarkfield High School in 1958. On August 15, 1959, she married Theodore Bartel in Hazel Run and they made their home in Kandiyohi. Lois kept their home running and worked various jobs outside the home, including at Kashmark's Grocery in Kandiyohi and at Habicht's in Willmar. She later worked as a cook for Willmar Public Schools for several years. Lois lived the past few years in Willmar.
Lois was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was active with Ruth Circle and the quilting group. She was also a member of the local Lois Club. She enjoyed square dancing with Ted, quilting, needlework, embroidery, and crocheting. She also enjoyed word puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Lois will be remembered for being a giving person who was always willing to help others, as a wonderful mother and grandmother, and as a faithful servant of the Lord
She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine (and David) King of Willmar and Linda (and Tim) Levens of Mound; four grandchildren, Casey Swier, Timmy Levens, Isaac King and Tony Levens; and two great grandchildren, Julian and Ellaina. Also surviving are four brothers, Alfred (and Betty) Sannerud of Ham Lake, Curtis Sannerud of St. Cloud, Eugene (and Sharon) Sannerud of Granite Falls, and Peder Sannerud of Bethel; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted in 2017; and a son, Teddy in 1977.
