Lois C. Leaf, 86, of Willmar, died Thursday morning, April 21, at Sterling House Assisted Living in Willmar.
Memorial services will be 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 26, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.
Lois was born June 23, 1924, in Plummer, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and Matilda (Lindgren) Hansen. She grew up on the family farm in the rural Sunburg area and graduated from Kerkhoven High School. In August 1944, she married Morris S. Leaf. They lived east of Willmar for 40 years before moving to Independence Place in February 2004. They most recently resided at Sterling House in Willmar.
Lois was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church, where she was active with the women's organizations. She served on the election board for several years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading mystery novels. She was also a wonderful cook.
She is survived by her husband, Morris; a grandson, Shawn (and Connie) Skramstad of Shakopee; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marlys Grundmeyer in 1996; three brothers, Ervin, Harvey and Nels; and two sisters, Agnes and Louise.
