Lois J. Wahl, age 77, of Renville, formerly of the Willmar area, died Wednesday morning, August 19, at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia, Minnesota.
A private service will be held at the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer, Minnesota. (www.petersonbrothers.com)
Lois Jean (Mattson) Wahl was born on March 29, 1938 in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Ruby (Isaacson) and Harvey Mattson. She grew up in Willmar and was baptized, confirmed and married at Bethel Lutheran Church. After completing her education she was married on December 23, 1961 to Edward Wahl and they made their home in the Seattle, Washington area. There she worked in the restaurant industry and for the last 7 years was the manager of the Riverside Inn in Seattle. She retired in 1991, because of her health, and in 1995 moved back to the Willmar area. In about 2005, she moved to Renville and had recently moved into ReVilla Health Care in Renville.
She is survived by 1 niece, Connie Gough of Seattle, Washington and four nephews, Brad Van Hove of Pine Mountain, Georgia, Larry (and Sandie) Van Hove in Raymond, Steve Van Hove of Willmar and David (and Sharie) Van Hove of Renville, besides other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward in 1961, one sister, Shirley Gough, 2 nieces; Beckie Underhill and Lois Lindsay, and one great nephew, Gary Van Hove.
