She grew up in Willmar, was confirmed at Vinje Lutheran Church and graduated from Willmar High School in 1943. Following her graduation she worked for Northwest Bell Telephone as a telephone operator.
On June 14, 1946, Lorraine was married to Lawrence "Butch" Wegner at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. They made their home in Raymond, Minnesota and were blessed with two sons. Lorraine was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Raymond where she taught Sunday School, directed the Junior Choir and was active in Ladies Aid, Bible Study, and Altar Guild. She loved to work with children, was a volunteer Grandma at MACCRAY East and volunteered for many summers at the Green Lake Bible Camp. Lorraine lived her life as a testimonial to her faith. She took great pride in her Norwegian Heritage and was active in the Sons of Norway and was a member of NARFE.
Lorraine was an excellent hostess. The coffee pot was always on at her house, and she took much joy in entertaining family and friends. She captured the hearts of many with her warm smile and sincere caring demeanor.
