Lucille was born on September 27, 1922, on the family farm in Edwards Township, Kandiyohi County, near Raymond MN. She was the daughter of James and Alvina (Kalkbrenner) Denton. She grew up in the Raymond community, was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, and graduated from Raymond High School in 1942. On November 8, 1942, Lucille was united in marriage to Bernie Lilleberg and made their home on a farm east of Raymond. In 1944 they purchased the family farm in Harrison Township north of Atwater where they raised their family. She was employed from 1942 to 1944 at J.C. Penny Company in Willmar as head cashier. In 1993 they retired from farming and continued to reside on the family farm helping with the farming operation. In December of 1999 they moved to Sunnyview Assisted Living in Atwater and in January of 2008 they moved to the Lakeview Ranch in Darwin.
Lucille had a strong faith in the Lord and was very active in St. John Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved the farm and was happiest when her friends and family would stop for coffee and cookies or "a little lunch."
She is survived by her husband, Bernie; three sons, Stan (and Barbara) Lilleberg of Atwater, Jim (and MaryLee) Lilleberg of Fargo, ND, and Jon (and Andrea) Lilleberg of Maple Grove; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a son-in-law, Brian Kohn of Duluth and a sister-in-law, Eileen Denton of Atwater, besides many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Terri Jean; one daughter, Barbara Ann Kohn in 2006; one brother, Eugene Denton and one sister, Margaret Gratz.
