Lucille G. Linn, age 93, of Willmar, formerly of the Lake Lillian area, died Tuesday evening, February 6th, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, February 12th, at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar, with Rev. Sandra Hanawalt and Rev. Fred Jensen officiating. Interment will be in the Lake Lillian Community Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 P.M. on Sunday at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Lucille Grace Linn was born on August 27, 1913 on the family farm south of Kandiyohi, the daughter of Ruth Mildred Evangeline (Swenson) and Elmer Jonas Carlson. At a young age, she and her family moved to the Lake Elizabeth area. She grew up in that area, was baptized in the Lutheran faith, confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church and graduated from Willmar High School in 1921. On November 14, 1936, at Tripolis Lutheran Church near Kandiyohi, she was married to Stanley N. Linn and they made their home in the Lake Lillian community where Stanley farmed. Lucille was a LPN and was employed at the Cosmos Nursing Home and later at the Renville County Hospital for many years. She also served as a caregiver for several family members. In 1990, they moved to Willmar. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian and current member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Lucille enjoyed baking, sewing, caring for flowers, and entertaining friends and family. She was a gentle, loving person who cared deeply for her family and spent her life serving others.
She is survived by four children, Lois Linn of Willmar, Linda (and James) Schemmel of Willmar, Luther (and Nancy) Linn of Willmar and LaRuth (and Gregory) Buboltz of Wahpeton, North Dakota. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Edna Grof of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley in 1994; two children in infancy and two brothers, Elmer and Eldon Carlson.
