Luella "Lue" Elaine Fleischmann, age 84, of St. Cloud, formerly of New London, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, Sept. 27, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct.2, at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. (www.petersonbrothers.com)
Lue was born on September 15, 1928, in Selfridge, North Dakota, the daughter of Fred W. and Elfia (Olson) Nagel. She grew up in Arlington, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Arlington High School in 1946. Lue ventured from Arlington to Willmar with her sister Harriet and both worked at the Puritan Café. Lue met "Bob" Robert F. Fleischmann, while working at the Puritan. They enjoyed ballroom dancing all around Minnesota with their friends. On November 22, 1948, Lue was married to Bob in Webster, South Dakota and they spent their honeymoon travelling out west and arriving to see the swallows of San Juan Capistrano which was a favorite childhood story of Lue's. They made their home in Willmar and Lue worked at the Bell Telephone Company before being employed for 32 years as a receptionist at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center. Lue and Bob enjoyed spending their summers on Lake Andrew and winters in Arizona. Lue's hobbies included dancing, music, watching the sunset and being with her family at the lake.
She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey (and Lee) Fleischmann of St. Cloud, Julie (and Stafford) King of Deer River and Ross (and Kelli) Fleischmann of Denton, Texas; two grandchildren, Eric and Jessica Fleischmann and one sister, Harriet Kruckman of Glencoe, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob in 2001.
