Lynette Nelson

Lynette D. Nelson, age 60 of Spicer died Thursday, July 15, 2021, at her home in Spicer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.   www.petersonbrothers.com

Lynette Diane Nelson was born in Morris, Minnesota on November 16, 1960, to Douglas and Allenor (Cottrell) Goddard. She grew up in Morris.  Following high school, she moved to the Willmar area and later worked for Jennie-O.  It was there she met Keith Nelson, and they were united in marriage on February 21, 1987, at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer.  The couple lived in Spicer and raised their four daughters. Lynette was a stay-at-home mom much of the time. She later began working as an aide for the DAC and then a career as a bus/van driver for Peterson/Palmer Bus Service in Willmar until the end of 2019.

Lynette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and playing cards and board games. She was very connected to her seven siblings, always looking forward to the annual July camping trips with them and all their families.  Family was very important to Lynette, and she enjoyed spending time with her daughters and especially loved her grandchildren.

Lynette is survived by her husband, Keith; her mother, Allenor Goddard of Fergus Falls; four daughters, Michelle Nelson of Clara City, Maria Nelson of Willmar, Nicole (and Steven) Wilson of Redfield, IA., and Amber Nelson of Morton; six grandchildren; two sisters and five brothers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Goddard.
