Margaret Jean (Wick) Carver was born on July 12, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Jeanette (Olson) and Magnert Wick. Her father died when she was just two years old, and she moved with her mother and brother to Barrett, Minnesota, where she resided until they moved to Benson, Minnesota, where she finished her early education. Marge graduated from Benson High School in 1954 and she continued her education at the Anchor School of Nursing in St. Paul, receiving her Nursing degree. In 1957, she went to work for the Willmar State Hospital as and nurse and advanced to supervisory nurse. She worked there until her retirement on September 30, 1992. On April 15, 1963, she was married to Charles Nelson Carver in Benson, Minnesota, and they made their home on Green Lake. For the past 19 years they have spent the winters at Llano Grande Lake Park in Mercedes, Texas, where they had a double wide mobile home. They would travel to Mexico at least once a week which was always so much fun.
After retiring, Marge started quilting and became very good at it. Her quilts won many ribbons in Texas and Minnesota. She shared her expertise with many others by teaching at the recreation hall and at several quilt shops in Texas. She gladly gave some of her handiwork to friends and relatives. Her quilting room in Texas home was a marvel, and many people commented on it. She so liked to have ladies come to their home where she proudly showed all the quilts that are hanging on the walls. Marge and Charles became fans of karaoke, and they sang two or three times a week. Her favorite was to sing "These Boots Are Made For Walking (All Over You)" and playfully look at Charlie. They had so much of fun in their 48 plus years of marriage.
She loved company and on the 4th of July in Minnesota and Christmas Eve in Texas, they had a large group of people who were away from family also at those times of the year. She liked having her children and grandchildren visit often. Marge marveled at how much the grandchildren had grown and changed when she got back from Texas each year. She was a caring person; everyone she met loved her as she always had such a pleasant manner and wanted to be sure everyone felt special. Charlie was very proud to be married to her.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of Spicer; one son, Charles III (and Heather) Carver of Spicer, and two daughters, Rachel Wolf of Willmar and Rebecca (and Robert) Pinske of Spicer. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Hailey, Alexander, and Hunter Wolf, and Austin, Scott, and Jessica Pinske, and one brother, Clarence "Kelly" Wick of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents and infant children, Kevin and Kim.
