Margaret A. Teichert, age 84, of Willmar, died Wednesday evening, October 20, at the Glen Oaks Care Center in New London. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 23, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
Margaret Ann Teichert was born on March 12, 1926, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Paul and Josephine (Donnelly) Teichert. She grew up in Bird Island and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1944. Margaret worked for the Northwestern Telephone Company as an operator in Bird Island, Windom and Red Wing. On October 17, 1953, she was married to James Bath. They lived in various states and throughout France and Germany because of James' military career in the U.S. Air Force. In 1972, they moved to Red Wing and Margaret was employed at a nursing home in the laundry department. In 1991, Margaret retired and moved to Willmar. Margaret was a member of the Church of St. Mary and the Willmar Area Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading books, baking cookies and playing card games.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Bath of Viroqua, WI., and Steven (and Nila) Bath of Florence, SD.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Loretta Halliday of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Teichert and a brother-in-law, Leo Halliday.
