Maria Moreno

Maria Yolanda (Rivera) Moreno, age 73, of Willmar passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Burial will be at a later date in Weslaco, Texas.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Maria Yolanda (Rivera) Moreno, was born on February 4, 1947 in Weslaco, Texas, the daughter of Vincent and Paula (Alaniz) Rivera.  She grew up in Weslaco where she lived and worked with her family.  She moved to Willmar in 1988. On February 14, 1993 she was united in marriage to Francisco Moreno in Weslaco.  The couple lived in Willmar where Maria also worked at Benson Laundry.

Maria enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking (everyone loved her tortillas) and spending time with her family.  She especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her husband Francisco of Willmar; four children, David (and Tina) of Willmar, Dalia (and Gonzalo Sonora) of Willmar, Gloria Barrientos of Willmar, Peter Barrientos (and Becky) of Willmar. 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. four brothers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert and grandson, Robert.
