Marian M. Lobbins, age 90, of Willmar, died Sunday morning, April 15, at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at West Norway Lake Lutheran Cemetery in Sunburg.
Marian Marie Lobbins was born on April 5, 1928, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward Sr. and Ethel (Grant) Levy. Marian was raised on the family farm near Austin and received her education from the country school and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She moved to Watson and worked as a music teacher in the small towns across West-Central Minnesota. On August 9, 1949, Marian was united in marriage to Harold Lobbins. They lived in the communities of Odessa, Ortonville, Glencoe, Mendota, IL., Forada and to Norway Lake in 1976. Marian was employed at Jennie-O Foods for over 17 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and a life member of the V.F. W. Auxiliary. Marian enjoyed crocheting, making woven rugs, cooking and baking items for Hillcrest Café and spending time with her family and grandchildren at the lake.
She is survived by three sons, Duane Lobbins of New London, Dennis (and Debbie) Lobbins of Lansdowne, MD and David Lobbins of Willmar; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Marilyn (and David) Tebay of Austin and two sisters-in-law, Terry Lobbins of Rockford, IL and Harriet Lobbins of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 1998; one son, Donald; one grandson, Michael and five brothers, Edward Jr., John, Leonard, Delmar and Robert.
