Marilyn Lohse, age 60, of Raymond, passed on to her Heavenly Home on Monday morning, March 20th surrounded by her family at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Raymond. Burial will be at a later date.

Marilyn was born on April 28, 1962, in Willmar, to parents Marvin and Marion Bohlsen. She grew up on a farm near Bunde and attended Central Minnesota Christian School in Prinsburg. On November 6, 1981, she married her high school sweetheart, Brian Lohse and they celebrated their 40 year anniversary in 2022. Marilyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary School Education in 1984 and a Master of Science in the same field in 2002. She attended Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, and Morris Community College. She worked with MACCRAY Elementary schools for 27 years where she taught 4th-6th grades, implemented the Gifted and Talented Program, Chess Club, and participated in other after-school activities. Starting at the age of 16, Marilyn played organ for Bunde Christian Reformed Church and continued at St. John’s Lutheran Church for 42 years. She enjoyed her passion of teaching through piano lessons and elementary school education. She retired in May of 2021 and continued her hobbies of gardening, camping, sewing and quilting, along with traveling with her husband, Brian.
Marilyn is survived by her husband; Brian Lohse, three daughters; Brianna Kemboi, Khia (and Sebrina) Loza, and Kimberly Lohse, one granddaughter; Leah Kemboi, three sisters; Beverly (and Dave) Jensen, Barbara Niehaus, and Lois (and Thomas) Coatney, and sister in-law Pamela (and Jeffrey) Maag, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Marvin and Marion Bohlsen, and her father and mother in-law, Harlan and Sylvia Lohse.
