Marion L. Kingery, age 82, of Atwater, died Thursday morning, October 23, at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. Interment will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 27, at the Lakeview Cemetery in Windom. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Atwater Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marion Louise Kingery was born on July 6, 1926, in Windom, Minnesota, the daughter of Olaf and Margaret (Mathison) Erickson. She grew up in Windom and graduated from Windom High School in 1943. On June 20, 1948, in Windom, Marion was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Kingery. They lived in Windom, St. Cloud, St. James and moved to Atwater in 1961. They owned and operated the Atwater Bowling Center until their retirement in 1983. Marion then worked part time as a hostess and pianist at the Library Square Restaurant in Litchfield. She was also a piano teacher for many years in Atwater. Marion was an active member of her church, serving as the organist, a Sunday School teacher and member of the WELCA. She was a past member of the Toastmasters, Women's AGLOW, active with the Atwater Block Nurse Program and received the Atwater Good Neighbor award.
She is survived by her four sons; Robert (and Lori) Kingery of Grove City, James (and Lori) Kingery of Willmar, Thomas (and Ann) Kingery of Atwater and Michael (and Christy) Kingery of Grove City; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two siblings, Lois Kingery of Windom and John (and Karen) Erickson of Leesburg, Florida, besides other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; one son, Douglas; and one brother, Edgar.
