Mark D. Kallevig, age 54, of Willmar, died unexpectedly, Saturday evening, January 21, at Rice Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Calvary Lutheran Church Chapel. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mark David Kallevig was born on June 21, 1957, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Marvin and Mildred (Jacobson) Kallevig. He grew up in Willmar, graduated from Willmar High School in 1975 and attended the Willmar Vo-Tech in the automotive program. Mark has been employed in the automotive industry his entire life, and was most recently employed at Midwest Motors in Willmar.
Mark's hobbies included fishing and social networking "talking on his telephone". He was an avid NASCAR and MN Twins fan.
He is survived by his cherished lifelong companion, Kay Grimsgard of Willmar and best friend, Hailey...his black lab. Also surviving is his mother, Millie Johnson of Willmar; brothers, Robert (and Adrienne) Johnson of Bay Port and Richard Johnson (and fiance, Adrianne Vander Borght) of St. Paul; and his extended family, Jim Grimsgard (and Kris Andrews) of Atwater, Justin Grimsgard of Litchfield, Missi (and Nate) Voigt of Litchfield; his little buddy, Riley Voigt; and dear family friend, Patricia Clark of Kandiyohi; besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin and canine companion, Cheyenne.
