Marsha Rooda

Marsha J. Rooda, age 58, of Willmar, died Wednesday morning, May 27, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marsha Jean Rooda was born on March 15, 1957 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Sidney and Marion J. (Lang) Rooda and the family moved to Willmar that same year. Marsha grew up in Willmar, received her education and graduated from Willmar High School in 1975. She continued her education attending nursing school in Mankato. She was 2 months short of graduating when she had a back injury and had to leave school. She then attended and graduated from dental assistant school. Marsha made her home in Minneapolis for a time and worked at an automotive dealership. She returned to Willmar, did day care at her home, worked at the prison in Appleton, was a nurses aid at Rice Care Center and for about the last 15 years was an Billing Account Representative for Rice Home Medical.

Marsha loved being with her family and friends and enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, flowers and watching her favorite programs on TV.

She is survived by her parents, Sid and Marion Rooda of Willmar; one brother, Gerald (and Vickie) Rooda of Willmar; four nephews and one niece. Also surviving are very special friends, Lavonne Bourne of Willmar, Rose Broesder of Kandiyohi and Shawna Schwartz of Willmar, besides other relatives and friends.

Marsha was preceded in death by her grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
