Marvin Nere

Marvin H. A. Nere, age 87, of Willmar, died Friday evening, June 1, at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. www.petersonbrothers.com


Marvin Henry August Nere was born on February 28, 1931, in Olivia, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Elfreda (Herman) Nere. On April 18, 1972, Marvin was united in marriage to Noreen Ardelle Zvorak. They lived in Minneapolis for a couple of years before moving to Willmar. Marvin was employed as a taxi driver and a commercial glass window and door installer in the Willmar area. He enjoyed antiquing with friends, being with family and weekly excursions to Jackpot with Noreen.


He is survived by one son, Terry Nere of Scottsbluff, NE. and one daughter, Joy (and Darrel) Keene of Scottsbluff, NE; one granddaughter and one great granddaughter. Also surviving are two nephews, Tom Piehl of Perham and Greg (and Pam) Piehl of Hector and two nieces, Lynn (and Bill) Serra of Nisswa and Shelley (and Bruce) Shearer of Las Vegas, NV., besides other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Noreen on April 29, 2017; and one daughter, Vicki Lase.
