Mary Niemeyer

Mary Niemeyer, age 70, of Willmar, died Friday evening, April 8, at Central Minnesota Senior Care - Divine House in Willmar.

Memorial service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 14, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.

Mary Kaye Niemeyer was born in New Richmond, Wisconsin the middle daughter of Irving James and Bernadine (Lynch) Murray on May 6th 1945. She was raised in St Paul, Minnesota and attended Johnson High School. She was a homemaker and sometimes waitress, a profession she learned as a child in her grandparents restaurant in Oaklee, Minnesota. She enjoyed romantic stories, tear jerker movies and country western music but Elvis was always King! She could be found at the kitchen table anytime of the day and often at night with a warm Pepsi and a hot game of solitaire. She was proud of her Irish heritage as a member of the Murray clan who traveled from Ireland and settled in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

Survived by her husband of 30 years, James Niemeyer of Willmar, five children; Pamela Fiereck of Minneapolis, Jeffrey (and Sara) Mitchell of Shoreview, Linda (and Roger) Zimmerman of Madison, Wisconsin, Christine Brown of Bloomington, and Jennifer (and Detonias) Swift of Willmar. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; Nena, Emily, Katherine, Ashley, Samantha, Nicholas, Stephanie, Alexander, Nathaniel, Daniel, Nicholas and Gabriella, one great grandchild, Jack and one sister, Diane (and Robert) Hoffman of Inver Grove Heights.

Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Karen Kutscher and her stepson, Timothy Niemeyer.
