MaryEllen Tebben, age 80, a long time resident of Raymond, Minnesota, died Thursday, June 23, at Bethesda Heritage Center Nursing Home in Willmar.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at the Raymond United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Raymond. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Raymond United Methodist Church.
MaryEllen was born on February 23, 1931 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Arthur & Esther Swensen. She married Harold Henry Tebben on May 28, 1949. Mary Ellen was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church where she directed the Junior Choir, was a soloist and choir member. She served for several years as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She worked for Wonderalls and Schegman's Cleaners in Willmar. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, singing, square dancing, and camping.
MaryEllen grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but she adapted to farm life quickly following her marriage. She and Harold farmed for several years before moving to Raymond. She became an excellent cook, and had a large garden. She enjoyed entertaining her many friends. She raised three sons and one daughter. She loved her family and was involved in the activities of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Lloyd (and Dianne) Tebben of Olathe KS, Lynn Tebben of Litchfield, MN, Lee Tebben of Raymond, MN, and Linda (and Gary) Stevens of Bird Island, MN; a daughter-in-law: Karen Tebben of Raymond, MN; 11 grandchildren: Daniel, Peter, Sarah, Elizabeth, Lisa, Julie, Aaron, Katherine, Austin, Anthony, and Jacqueline; 28 great-grandchildren: Lauren, Allison, Jacob, Joshua, Isaac, Alexis, Jack, Preston, Kody, Logan, Noah, Maya, Madison, Dawson, Destiny, Davin, Samantha, Mindy, Jay, Derwood, Arthur, Jaxon, Ava, Nicolaas, Shyanne, Serina, Gage and Jazlynn; her sister: Carol (and LeRoy) Anderson of Scottsdale, AZ; and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years: Harold in 2003; her brother: John Swensen in 2011; and a step-granddaughter: Heather in 2008.
