Mavis Jorgenson

Mavis Jorgenson was born on May 17, 1939, in Kerkhoven Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Gunderson) Leaf. She was united in marriage to James Jorgenson on January 11, 1958, at the Sunburg Parsonage. Mavis worked at the Sunburg café, Toro in Willmar and was head cook for the Sunburg and Murdock schools. She liked to cook and bake, but loved planning holiday meals. Mavis enjoyed watching birds and planting flowers. She always welcomed a visit from family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James and one son Scott (and Susan). Two grandchildren Trevor and Lyndsay. Two sisters Marsha Skindelien and Ramona (and Jim) Christenson; and a sister- in- law Betty Leaf. Also, surviving are many nieces and nephews.
The visitation is Friday May 30 from 5pm to 7pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg, Minnesota. The funeral will be held Saturday May 31 at 1pm at Hope Lutheran Church with a one hour visitation prior.
