WILLMAR, MN.
Michael "Mike" Scott Bredberg, age 50, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Jan. 27, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home.
Mike was born on September 30, 1957, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Neil and Vivian (Swenson) Bredberg. He grew up in Willmar, was baptized in the Lutheran faith, confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church and graduated from Willmar High School in 1975. Mike served active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1978 and then in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1978 to 1981, when he was honorably discharged. He was employed with Burlington Northern Railroad as a laborer from 1978 to 2007. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football, having early morning coffee at Perkin's Restaurant with his friends and working on the railroad.
He is survived by his son, Marc Bredberg of New London and three siblings, Jeff Bredberg of Willmar, Brian (and Teresa) Bredberg of Sacramento, CA., and Shiela (and Joe) Ballek of Leonard, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Noah.
