Mildred Wermager

Mildred "Micky" H. Wermager, age 103, of Willmar and formerly of St. Paul, died Tuesday, April 15, at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, at Vinje Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at First Lutheran Cemetery in Fergus Falls. Arrangements are with the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. www.petersonbrothers.com

Mildred "Micky" Hildora Wermager was born on March 26, 1911, in Audubon, Minnesota, the daughter of the Rev. H. H. and Molly (Haugen) Knudsvig. She grew up in Audubon, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by her father, and received her education in Audubon. Micky attended Concordia College in Moorhead and graduated in 1932 with a degree in Education. She taught school in Buxton, North Dakota and in Bertha, Minnesota. In 1936, Micky was united in marriage to Lawrence E. "Leu" Wermager. They lived in Karlstad, Breckenridge, Fergus Falls and St. Paul. She taught piano until the age of 95. In 2006, Micky moved to Willmar to live with her family. She was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church. Micky enjoyed people, music and being at the lake. She was proud to be a Concordia College Alumni.

She is survived by three children, Brian (and Dianne) Wermager of Brainerd, Marc Wermager of Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, and Sheryl (and Richard) Engan of Willmar; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leu in 1974; one brother, Manfred Knudsvig and one sister, Alice Hjelle.
