Myron V. Olson, age 80, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, July 21, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar from an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Myron Victor Olson was born on July 2, 1935, in Nicolett, Minnesota, the son of Ruben and Judith (Swenson) Olson. He was raised in LeSeuer, graduated from LeSeuer High School in 1955, attended the accounting program at Mankato Commercial College and then served for a brief period in the U.S. Army. In 1960, Myron began employment as an accountant with the Al Johnson Construction Company. On September 3, 1961, Myron was united in marriage to Charlotte Ann Roduner. They made their home in Columbia Heights and New Prague with their children. They divorced in 1985 and Myron moved to Richfield. Upon retirement in 2000, Myron moved to Las Vegas before moving to Willmar in 2006 to be closer to family. Myron enjoyed playing card games, fishing, catching up with friends and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his two children, Terri Bobbitt (and special friend, Jon Defries) of Burnsville and Mark Olson of Willmar; two grandchildren, Kimberly Pecholt of Duluth and Ashley Olson of International Falls; and one sister, Darlene Flasch of Wisconsin, besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
