Myrtle L. Lawler, age 97, of Willmar, died Wednesday evening, January 28, at Rice Care Center in Willmar.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. www.petersonbrothers.com
Myrtle Lillian Lawler was born on June 9, 1917, near Odessa, Minnesota, the daughter of Ellef and Hannah (Sorenson) Hansen. She grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1935. On October 30, 1947, in Willmar, Myrtle was married to Douglas Lawler and they made their home in the Willmar community. Myrtle was employed as a sales person for many years at several Willmar businesses such as Woolworth's, Paffrath Jeweler's and J.C. Penny Company, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Aagotha Hansen of Willmar, besides several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas in 2003 and two brothers, Archie and LeRoy in infancy.
