Natalie Nelson

Natalie Jean Nelson, age 64, of Roseland, died Monday evening, August 25, at the St. Cloud V.A. Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, at the Svea Lutheran Church in Svea. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Svea Lutheran Church are preferred.

Natalie Jean Nelson was born on December 7, 1949, in Burke, South Dakota, the daughter of John and Beverly (Ivers) Jeffords. She grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana and graduated in 1969 from Wiley High School in Terre Haute. She enlisted in the U.S. Army and served at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Following her discharge from active duty, she served as a member of the Army Reserve Unit in Willmar. In 1973, Natalie moved to Willmar and attended the Willmar Vo-Tech College. On February 22, 1975, she was married to Gary David Nelson. They lived in the communities of Renville, Lake Lillian, and Svea before moving to Roseland in 1998. Natalie was employed as a bookkeeper for Nelson's Mobile in Blomkest and worked as a waitress at the Blomkest Café and Mel's 7-71 Café, retiring in 2012. She was a member of Svea Lutheran Church. Natalie's hobbies included flowers, gardening, canning foods and crocheting afghans and pot holders. She cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Gary of Roseland; seven siblings, Pam (and Mike) Newhart of Lake Alfred, FL, Bruce (and Marie) Jeffords of Kenosha, WI, Stephanie (and Barry) Brace of Temecula, CA, Larry (and Cindy) Jeffords of San Diego, CA, Debby (and Bob) Larson of Rice Lake, WI, Becky (and Brad) Diller of White Bear Lake and Chris (and Jen) Jeffords of Willmar; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
