Neil Kallestad

Neil Kallestad, age 30, of Sauk Rapids, formerly of Willmar, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 19, in Sauk Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, August 23, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar with Rev. Wes Hromatko officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Neal Kallestad was born on April 8, 1978, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of John and Bonita (Wurtz) Kallestad. He grew up in Willmar and received his education from the Willmar schools. He was currently employed at Good Will / Easter Seal in St. Cloud as a forklift driver. As a youth, Neal was active in 4-H, Boy Scouts and school orchestra. He had a fond love of music. Neal was a talented composer and especially loved playing keyboard, guitar and electronic music.

He is survived by his parents, John and Bonita Kallestad of Willmar; one brother, Les Kallestad and special friend, Heather Dougherty of Grand Forks, ND., his grandmother, Gladys Kallestad of Minot, ND., besides other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
