Dominicht "Nick" B. Johnson, age 42, of Willmar, died Sunday, May 12, in Willmar.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the First Covenant Church in Willmar. Interment will be at Salem Covenant Cemetery near Pennock. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. www.petersonbrothers.com

Nick was born on September 3, 1970, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Albert J. and Ellen Diane (Broberg) Johnson. He grew up in Willmar, was baptized and confirmed at the First Covenant Church in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1989. Nick attended North Park College in Chicago for four years studying economics and finance. He then attended North Dakota State University for Landscape Architecture. On May 2, 1998, Nick was married to Rebecca Schultz. They made their home in Willmar and later divorced. Nick owned and operated Nick's Lawn Maintenance for over 30 years. He was blessed with the opportunity to work side by side with his father for many of those years. He was an active member of the First Covenant Church, Alcoholics Anonymous of Willmar and the Willmar community. Since 1994, Nick has suffered medical conditions. He was a poet, songwriter and musician. Nick was also a confident businessman who always looked ahead for the "next venture". Nick enjoyed sports, music, playing monopoly and card games and spending time with his family and children. Nick was a loyal fan of his children's school activities and his nieces and nephews sporting events. His wit and unique sense of humor will be missed by all of us!

He is survived by his two children, Benjamin Beau Johnson and Grace Rebecca Johnson, both of Willmar; his parents, Albert and Diane Johnson of Willmar; sisters, Regina (and Bob) Nelsen of Baxter, Victoria (and Troy) Lankenau of Willmar and Margaret (and Dan) Anderson of Scotts Valley, CA., and his maternal grandparents, Edmond and Maybelle Broberg of Kerkhoven, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and an uncle, Richard E. Johnson.
