Nila R. Carlson, age 63, of Spicer died Tuesday evening, December 29th, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Monday, January 4th, at the Hope Presbyterian Church in Spicer. The interment will be in the Spicer City Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the church. Arrangements are with the Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer.
Nila Rae (Pitcher) Carlson was born on March 19, 1946, in Willmar the daughter of Marvin W. and Doris M. (Bergeson) Pitcher. She grew up in the Spicer area and received her education there. On July 27, 1964, she was married to Russell Oscar Carlson at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar and they made their home in Spicer until 1969. In that year they moved to Minneapolis and she lived there until Russell's death in 1995. After her husband's death, Nila moved back to Spicer and has lived there since. She was baptized at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church in Willmar, confirmed at Sharon Lutheran, now Faith Lutheran Church, in Spicer and was currently a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church in Spicer.
She is survived by one daughter, Deanna (and Milton) Click of Champlin, Minnesota and one son, Trent Carlson of Discovery Bay, California. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Maggie Fortman, Melissa Fortman, Jeremy (and Jen) Click and Cassie Carlson and Jacob Carlson, two great grandchildren, Trevor Patterson and Tristen Click and mother, Doris Pitcher of Spicer, besides other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father and her husband.
