Nola Brinton

October 27, 1934 — February 24, 2019

Nola G. Brinton, age 84, of Spicer,  died Sunday morning, February 24, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The CELEBRATION OF LIFE for Nola Gayle Brinton will be held at 11 am Friday, July 12 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  A gathering of friends and family will be from 5 – 7 pm on Thursday, July 11 at the Willmar Elks Lodge.  Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church or the Willmar Elks Lodge building fund.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home of Willmar. www.petersonbrothers.com

Nola was born on October 27, 1934 in Ellsworth, Iowa, the daughter of Roaul and Naomi (Blair) Amundson.  She was confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church of Ellsworth and graduated from Ellsworth High School.  Nola was united in marriage to Gene Brinton and in 1968 they moved to Willmar, MN.  In 1974 they founded Brinton Veterinary Solutions, retiring in 2002.

Nola was a member of Vinje Lutheran Church and was active in the Women’s Circle.  Following their move to the New London –Spicer community, they joined Peace Lutheran Church in New London.

Nola was a loving, virtuous wife, caring, adoring mother/grandmother and so enjoyed her great grandchildren.  She cherished spending time with family and friends.  She will surely be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.  Proverbs 12-4:  A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband.

Her hobbies included oil painting, gardening, fishing, camping, and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Brinton, daughter, Jackie (Frank) Mourning of New London, five grandchildren, Alyssa Mourning Thompson, McArthur Brinton Mourning, Skyler Amundson Mourning, Alexander Marshall Brinton,  Amanda Jane Brinton, eight great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Marshall Kim Brinton and her brother Richard Amundson.
