Norma Nelson

Norma M. Nelson, age 80, of Willmar, died Thursday, July 4, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at Harrison Community Presbyterian Church.   Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Atwater.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements with the Peterson Brothers Atwater Funeral Home.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Norma Mae Nelson was born on July 30, 1938, in Atwater, Minnesota.  She grew up and received her education in the Atwater community.  Norma was involved in a farm accident at a young age and lived with her parents for many years.  Since 1985, she has resided at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home.

She is survived by five siblings, Robert (and Virginia) Nelson of Elk River, Marlys (and David) Olson of Kalamazoo, MI., Shirley (and Bruce) Larson of Atwater, Larry (and Barb) Nelson of Vadnais Heights and Janice Nelson (and Norman Abbott) of Montesano, WA.; and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Nelson of Minnetonka and Deanna Nelson of Buffalo Lake, besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers,  Richard, Gary and Kim.
