Olander "Ole" K. Hanson, age 93, of Sunburg, died Friday evening, November 12th, at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, November 16th, at the Sunburg Free Lutheran Church in rural Sunburg. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 P.M., Monday at the Peterson Brothers Sunburg Funeral Home in Sunburg and at the church one hour prior to the services.
"Ole" Kermit Olander Hanson was born on December 16, 1916, on the family farm in Norway Lake Township, near Sunburg, Minnesota. He grew up in that area and received his education in the rural schools. He farmed in the area for a time and then worked for Kibby Construction and worked on roads around Minnesota until his retirement in about 1978. He then worked at Jennie-O Foods for several years, working on the line. Ole was one that loved to help others and was a care giver for several family members and friends. He also befriended any and all stray cats in his area, feeding and caring for them. Ole enjoyed to play bingo and having lunch at the Ka-de Shack in Brooten with family and later friends.
Ole is survived by a special great niece; Melanie Sorenson of Brooten, two nieces; Eleanor (and Ed) Ruchti of Sunburg and Diane Humphrey of Brooten and two nephews; Dennis (and Pat) Hanson of Buffalo and Calvin (and Barb) Hanson of Brooten, beside many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers (Herman, Lemoine and Ingmar Hanson).
