Olga M. Arneson, age 93, of Sunburg, died Friday morning, December 22, at the Meadow Lane Care Center in Benson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 27, at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. Interment will be at Spring Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with the Sunburg Funeral Home.
Olga was born on December 18, 1913, in Trail County, North Dakota, the daughter of Hans and Jacobine (Oien) Hanson, the eighth of thirteen children. In July of 1914, the family moved to Swift County, Minnesota. Olga was baptized and confirmed at the St. Pauli Lutheran Church near Benson. She attended school through the eighth grade in District #73 School near Camp Lake. On June 22, 1937, Olga married Cornell Arneson in Benson and they lived on the Arneson farm in Swift County. Cornell died in 1967. On December 21, 1968, in Benson, Olga married Marvin Arneson and they continued to live on the Arneson family farm. She was a longtime member of Spring Creek Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and custodian.
Throughout the years, Olga enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and raising tuberous begonias. Olga also cut hair for many people in the Sunburg community.
She is survived by one sister, Louise Nordby of Appleton; many nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; seven brothers and four sisters.
