Pablo Rodriguez, age 64, of Willmar, passed away Thursday morning, September 19, at CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 27, at the Calvary Lutheran Church Chapel. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Pablo was born on February 2, 1960, in San Juan, Texas, the son of Guadalupe Sr. and Benita (Luna) Rodriguez. He grew up in San Juan and Alamo, Texas and was baptized in the Methodist faith. Pablo lived in Willmar and worked in the maintenance departments at K-Mart and Walmart. When Pablo was in his 40’s, he became disabled with back injuries and was no longer able to work.
Pablo enjoyed fishing (especially for catfish), collecting classic toy cars, watching WWE wrestling, attending area garage sales, being an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys, and traveling to Texas to visit family. He will be best remembered for his great sense of sarcastic humor and love for his family.
He is survived by his four children, Ilene (and Gonzalo) Tizapan of Dassel, Pablo Rodriguez Jr. of Pecos, TX., Juan Pablo “JP” Rodriguez of Dassel and Noah Rodriguez of Willmar; thirteen grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita (and Joe) Burch of Litchfield and Mary Rodriguez of Donna, TX.; one brother, David Rodriguez of Alamo, TX.; and special friend, Armando Franco; besides other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Julia and Rosa; and two brothers, Vicente and Guadalupe Jr.
