Patricia A. Commerford, age 59, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Friday evening, April 11th, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 15th, at the Church of St. Mary with Fr. Steve Verhelst officiating. The interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Murdock. Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. Monday at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service. There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 6 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Patricia Ann Commerford was born on April 20, 1948 in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Dorothy G. (Vadnais) and J. Kenneth Commerford. They lived in Murdock, where she was baptized and received her first communion at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They moved to the Willmar area in 1955, was confirmed at the Church of St. Mary and received her education in Willmar, she graduated from Willmar High School in 1967. Patty worked for West Central Industries, Kandiyohi DAC and most recently for the Atwater DAC. She enjoyed participating at the Special Olympics, bowling, attended dances at the Elks, working on circle word books, listening to Willmar sports and the Twins games and checking her weather calendar. Patricia loved spending time with her family at the lake.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Commerford of Willmar, two brothers, Michael (and Pamela) Commerford of Hutchinson and Danny (and Laura Buckley) Commerford of Spicer and two sisters, Diane (and Lowell) Hjelle of Lowry and Bonnie Stoen of Alexandria. Also surviving are two nieces; Jennifer (and Mike) Lenarz and Danielle Commerford, seven nephews; Nathan (and Jessie) Hjelle, Ryan (and Kala) Hjelle, Christian Commerford, Aaron Stoen, Cameron Commerford, Chandler Commerford and Colin Commerford, two great nieces, Lily Hjelle and Elliot Commerford-Doherty and one great nephew, Gavin Hjelle, one aunt, Madge Commerford of Buffalo and several cousins, besides other relatives and friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her father in 1984, grandparents, three aunts Delores Sandin, Bessie Vadnais and Lois Commerford and 4 uncles, Donald Vadnais, Paul Sandin, Joe Commerford and Jim Commerford.
