Patricia Estby

Patricia L. Estby, age 87, of Willmar, died Wednesday morning, November 13, at Carris Health Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.petersonbrothers.com

Patricia Loucille Estby was born on August 18, 1932 in New Rockford, North Dakota to Stanley and Cathryn Hinshaw.  She had six siblings: four brothers and two sisters.  Pat grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.  She moved to the Twin Cities where she met her future husband, Oniel Estby.  They were married on February 5, 1953 at Immanuel Church in St. Paul.  They lived in Verdun, France where Oniel was stationed with U.S. Army before moving to Willmar in 1955.  To this union they had four children, Danny, David, Kristi and Angela.  They were members of Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.  Pat worked at the Willmar Cookie Company for several years.  She was later employed at the Willmar Nursing Home and then Ashwood Care Center, where she made many good friends.  She and Oniel were blessed to work side by side at Ashwood Care Center until her retirement.  Pat enjoyed going on road trips on Oniel's Harley, hunting for wild asparagus and morel mushrooms.  They would go fishing and camping at Fish Lake by Sunburg.  Later they would enjoy camping on their lake lot, in their "Blue Goose" bus camper.  She enjoyed taking the grandkids camping and having campfires.  Pat loved her family and grandchildren with all her heart.

She is survived by two sons, Danny (Joy) Estby of Parker, CO; David (Marilyn) Estby of Two Harbors, one daughter, Angie Estby of Willmar; seven grandchildren, Steve (Missy) Estby, Michelle (Justin) Suparat, Christine (Ben) Painter, Matt Estby, Andrea Estby, Andrew Ahlbrecht and Ethan (Nicole) Ahlbrecht; and fifteen great grandchildren.  Also surviving is one sister, Margie Mindermann (Ron) Zuberbier of Detroit Lakes, besides many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oniel; one daughter, Kristi; four brothers; and one sister.
