Patricia "Pat" A. Malvin, 75, of Willmar, died Thursday, May 27, at the Birchwood Hospice House in Hutchinson, Minnesota, following a extended battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 31, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home with Parish Prayers at 4:40 P.M. and visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Patricia Ann (Sletten) Malvin was born on July 26, 1934 in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Sylvia (Halsey) and Kenneth Sletten. She grew up in Willmar and attended the Willmar Public Schools. On November 23, 1951, she married Patrick Peter Malvin in Willmar. They farmed for many years on several different farms in the area. Pat also worked for 28 years as a nurses aide at Rice Care Center until she retired. She loved spending time with her family, making meals on Sunday and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Her greatest joy was the love of family.
She is survived by her children, Vicki Malvin of Willmar, Barb Wold of Willmar, Tim (Peggy) Malvin of Willmar, Shawn (Lori) Malvin of Danube, Cathy Malvin of Franklin, Robin (Carl) Stegeman of Hutchinson, Mark Malvin of Willmar, Michelle Malvin of Willmar and Sara (Murray) Peterson of Sacred Heart; 25 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and two brothers, Darryl (Myrna) Sletten of Charles City, Iowa and Douglas (Deloris) Sletten of Rapid City, South Dakota, besides other relatives and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Patrick in 1999), an infant son and one brother (David Sletten in 2006).
