Patricia Schmidt

Patricia C. Schmidt, age 43, of Atwater, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, September 4, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kandiyohi. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Atwater Funeral Home with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Patricia Claire Schmidt was born March 23, 1964, in Waseca, Minnesota, the daughter of James and Judith (Goblirsch) Norvell. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. In 1982, she graduated from Red River High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She attended Mayville State University for two years. On August 13, 1988, Patricia married Steven D. Schmidt. They lived in Florida for several years before moving to Atwater in 1999. Patricia was most recently employed as a lab technician at the Hutchinson Medical Center. She enjoyed hiking, camping, crafts, spending time with family and friends and attending her daughter's activities.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; a daughter, Megan Schmidt of Atwater; her parents, James and Judy Norvell of Schroeder; a brother, Andy of St. Cloud; two sisters, Kathy (and Mark) of Duluth and Susan (and Jim) of Grand Marais; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
